Surely, I cannot be the only one who can’t grow a beard for more than 9 days before it starts itching? Trust me, I have tried, and I just cannot get past the ten day mark before I need to grab my nifty trimmer. In case you are one of the many who made it to the end of No Shave November (unlike me), I’ve got a list of products and gadgets that you may need in order to trim it, shave it or keep it (and well maintained, that is). These are our top picks for you to use in honor of another successful (or unsuccessful, in my case) No Shave November.

TRIM IT

  • The Phillips Norelco OneBlade is a trimmer that can shave, create lines and edges, and you guessed it, trim. It can do it all with a single blade. I have had mine for 5+ years and it is my go to when I need to keep my facial hair looking clean and fresh.
  • Need another option to help manage your facial hair, let me recommend the Beard Hedger by Manscaped. It offers 20 different lengths and a 60-minute battery life for this more laborious shaves.
  • After you trim your beard or mustache, smooth out the skin with a bit of Bad Ace Aqua Shave Balm. A unique blend of hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic ingredients help to soothe the skin.
  • If you are a refined man that just needs the basic tools to maintain yourself, the 3-piece Beard and Mustache Travel Set from Mondial should do the trick. The grooming set includes a small scissors, and mini acetate comb and brush with synthetic boar bristle. Sophisticated and compact. A fuss-free way to go.

SHAVE IT

  • Let’s start with the toner to help exfoliate, soothe, hydrate and ensure a smoother, bump-free shave every time. The RED Pro GROOMANE Exfoliating Toner is one of the best in the game. The active ingredients help reduce bumps and irritation making your shave more enjoyable. A win / win in my book.
  • If you are looking to exfoliate your scruff before a shave, Dollar Shave Club’s Prep Scrub is for you. Exfoliate your skin to help clear it of debris and grime and get yourself that close shave you have been waiting for since November 1.
  • If you shave it with a good ole razor and shaving cream, I commend you for your talent and skill. I have experienced one too many nicks and cuts to the throat to ever want to go down this route again. The Truefitt’s “Wellington” style razor is made in the UK and has a Mach III head. It is specially weighted and has ergonomically hand-crafted razor handles that are designed to assist in giving you the smoothest, safest shave possible. For the price, that is exactly what would be expected. If you need the same outcome with a smaller price tag, the Harry’s Original Value Pack is a great option.
  • No one should be using just soap or simply water to shave. That is a sure-fire way to irritate your skin and increase the change of getting ingrown hairs. The RED Pro GROOMANE Barber-Grade Shaving Gel is my go-to. The clear, non-foaming formula lets you see where you are shaving while it’s infusion with aloe helps minimize tugging and reduce post-shave redness and irritation.

KEEP IT

  • If you committed to the beard and stache and are keeping either or both, I recommend you moisturize the hair to help maintain a soft look and feel. The Every Man Jack Beard Oil conditions and softens with scents of Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Vanilla.
  • If a full beard is more your look, the Kingsmen Premium Beard Balm is made with a premium blend of sweet almond oil, clear jojoba oil, shea butter and cocoa butter that will condition the gnarliest of beards.
  • You have trimmed it with barber scissors, moisturized it on the daily, and now it is time to wash it. Use the Anthony Conditioning Beard Wash in the shower or before / after, if that works better for you. The coconut oil will hydrate your dry skin and detangle the hair while the Bilberry fruit cleanses the beard. Rinse and repeat on the daily.
