Let me preface this post by stating that I am not cool, whatsoever. However, I do have a ton of cool friends that sometimes make me feel and look way cooler than I really am.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

I shall set the scene. One afternoon, I get a text from a friend of mine how owns an experiential sweets empire, think cotton candy, gourmet popcorn and chocolates. She asks if I am free next weekend. I say, “Sure, I am.” She then proceeds to invite me to a private event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Yeah, the one the cool kids casually call, The Met. So, I do what any normal individual would do. I book a plane ticket, make a hotel reservation and pack a bag!

The Temple of Dendur

Walking up those concrete steps and through the museum entrance was pretty spectacular. The florals were fresh and the food was opulent, both served and passed. The entire museum was closed off for this private event allowing us to roam free through the hallways and exhibits halls that are usually packed with touristy crowds and locals, alike. There was an audible awe when I entered the space where my friend was set up, the space that holds The Temple of Dendur, completed by 10 B.C. The party was great, the conversation was better and the company was the best. It was a splendid night to remember, indeed.
